Teacher's guide for The Hunt for Anatomy Knowledge
by Bari Mannlein
Introduction
Use this Knowledge Hunt to help High School Biology/Health students learn about the following Human Body Systems...excretory, digestive, and circulatory, and the immune system, including related disorders. The goal is to get students acquiring defined knowledge regarding the organs in these systems and how they rely on each other.Overview
Main Topic: Human Body Systems Subtopics: Excretory System, Digestive System, Circulatory System, Grade Level: High School Subject(s): Biology/Health Learning Goal: acquiring defined knowledge
Vision and Reality
If the learning goal were achieved in the most ideal of perfect worlds it would look something like:
This activity will help students to name the organs of the excretory, digestive, and circulatory system and understand how they function as a system.
However, what I anticipate probably looks more like:
Based on the Vision set for this activity, the actual reality is more likely to be that they will learn about some of the organs in the human body and understand their function individually.
The What - If Inventory
To give the activity its best chance at helping students learn, I assembled this list of possible resources:
