Why I Teach
I teach because I enjoy working with young people (most of the time)and am a born performer and control freak - all serious criteria for successful teaching, I feel. I now want to venture into 'teaching' adults to help save time for busy teachers having to climb the learning curves involved with the integration of ICTs into curriculum delivery.
The Obligatory Bio
What can I say? I have finished my time as a face-to-face teacher and have plunged headfirst into a new challenge of providing guidance for teachers venturing onto the web for curriculum delivery.
I love gardening and have a mini-rainforest in my back yard - as well as two large dogs who don't like to share their forest with snakes - which suits me just fine!
I live in a house of all males - even the dogs - but manage to maintain some equilibrium. I retreat to a good book when it all gets too much for me. ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!
Web sites I Like
- CNN and the Cold War
- Interactive and multimedia resources for teaching the episodes of the Cold War.
- Trenches on the Web
- Primary and secondary resources on World War I
- Australia's Open Garden Scheme
- It allows me to find out where I can go for inspirations and also gives me great things to look at when I am stuck indoors!
