Introduction

In the 21st Century people no longer have 'one job for life'. Instead the norm is to change positions a number of different times.

In order to do this successfully it is important that you have a number of generic skills to draw upon.

In completing this task remember it is not about 'ctrl c' and 'ctrl v' but about understanding and interpreting.

You are expected to include images for each competency which relate to the work area you are addressing. >Google Imageswould be a good place to start.



Web Activities

What are the Key Competencies?

  1. In a team, brainstorm examples of workplace activities that would address each of the key competencies.

  2. With a partner, prepare a powerpoint which addresses the 7 Key Competencies in relation to a work place in which you are familiar.You are expected to make reference to work experience, work placements, casual jobs or family businesses.

  3. The powerpoint should clearly identify each Key Competency, examples of how these competencies are demonstrated in a particular area of employment and an image to support this.

  2. Your text book 'Industry and Enterprise Units 1 and 2' will also provide you with detailed information on the Key Competencies and how they relate to the workplace.


Google Images

  1. Use google images to assist you in finding images that match with each of the Key Competencies. Alternatively you may choose to include digital photos or scanned images.



Conclusion

As a personal reflection consider which competencies you consider yourself most competent at? Which require more work?

Take time to consider how you can further develop your skill level across all of the key competencies.
