Teacher's guide for The Biography : identifying its generic elements

by Nerelie Teese

Introduction

Use this Knowledge Hunt, 'The Biography : identifying its generic elements', to reinforce the main elements of biographical writing. The Knowledge Hunt should be used after reading a number of biographical pieces and after the generic structure has been outlined and discussed. This task is a reinforcement activity as well as transformational as students take the main ideas they have identified through the Knowledge Hunt and earlier learning activities and transform them into a flow chart demonstrating the processes involved in biographical writing. The flow chart should then be used as a guide for the students during the research and writing processes.
